At Jam, we're passionate about nurturing creativity through art-based learning. Our Home Education sessions have been designed to offer students of primary and secondary age a platform to perform their artistic talents and develop valuable skills.
What's involved in our Primary Sessions?
Our Primary age sessions are tailored to provide a dynamic, hands-on experience. Each sessions feature 2 or 3 art-based activities, allowing students to choose their projects and work at their own pace. This flexibility not only fosters creativity but ensures students can fully engage with the activities that interest them the most. At the end of each session students can take their creations home, giving them a tangible sense of accomplishment and keepsake from the sessions.
Level 1 and Level 2 Arts Award Qualifications for Secondary
For our secondary age students we've been focusing on the Bronze Art Award, the award encourages young people to develop their artistic skills at their own pace. We are keen that young people are able to access formal qualifications as part of their time with us and the Arts Award allows for students to work on their own projects and creativity whilst also giving them a formal qualification.
As part of the award, our students recently showcased their work in a special evening exhibition for friends and family. The event was a celebration of their hard work and creativity, providing them with an opportunity to share their achievements with peers and family. You can still see this exhibition on the upper floor of our cafe.
At Jam we've witnessed first-hand how empowering students to lead their own artistic endeavours enhances their learning experience.
What's to come?
As we move into September, we're excited to expand our sessions due to the demand for spaces. We will be introducing two secondary sessions and two primary session each week. This increase in frequency will allow us to accommodate more students and provide more opportunities for creative explorations. In addition, to continuing our Bronze award program, we are thrilled to support 7 of our secondary students as they embark on the silver arts award journey this September. This next level of Arts Award will challenge them further and provide new avenues for their personal artistic growth.
We have been lucky enough to attend some trips as part of our programme including a trip to Pallant House Gallery. We hope to continue to be able to offer these additional activities as well as working in partnership with resident artists.
At Jam our art-based sessions are more than creative activities, they are a space for students to discover talents, build confidence and express themselves in a safe and inclusive environment. With the expansion of our sessions and continued success of our students we are committed to fostering a welcoming environment where creativity thrives, and every student can reach their full potential.
We look forward to another exciting term filled with artistic exploration and achievement, if you're interested in joining our sessions or learning more about what we have on offer here at Jam please get in touch.
